Mojeek to relaunch with new & improved engine, features and design

Mojeek is pleased to announce the upcoming relaunch of its web search engine found at www.mojeek.com and www.mojeek.co.uk. The relaunch will include a major upgrade to the engine software, increased number of servers and more robust infrastucture, resulting in a vast improvement in index freshness, result relevancy and faster search response times. This all combined with a complete site redesign and extra result page features.

Mojeek is also in the process of improving upon its current api's and will be adding to that a variety of hosted search solutions, both further helping site owners and developers to more easily intergrate search into their sites.

Mojeek still has no plans to include advertising on its search result pages, this allows Mojeek's team to remain fully concentrated on the organic results and free from any decision making that may have effected advertising revenue and therefore the unbiasedness of the results, ie. give a boost to new sites or increase their chances of purchasing advertising(?). This also eliminates the need to provide advertisers with search query data or advertising providers with user ip addresses. Mojeek is and will remain committed to unbiased results and the privacy of its users.

Due January 2012:

  • complete infrastructure upgrade including new and increased number of servers
  • major upgrade of all the Mojeek software
  • increased index size and freshness, result relevancy and faster search response times
  • complete redesign of the site to include extra result page features

Due February 2012:

  • new api's to help webmasters more easily integrate search into their sites
  • hosted search solutions for when something more dedicated, powerful and/or customisable is required
